Cultivating a Literary Community
We host the Roar Reading Series in hopes of forging a literary community in this great state of nutmegs and constitutions. Connecticut has a rich literary history to draw upon, from Mark Twain to Eugene O'Neil to J.D. Salinger. Writing is often too solitary of a pursuit, and it's hard to remember, especially in this quiet corner of CT, that we are not alone. We seek to bring together writers and readers to share stories, successes, and inspiration from which we all may draw as we continue to drag our pens across the page.
SyllableThe mission of Syllable: A Reading Series is to provide a space for Connecticut writers of all levels to showcase their work, and to expose the public to a variety of writing styles. Syllable aims to be another brick in the strong arts community in the Greater Hartford area.
A Greater Hartford reading series hosted by Real Art Ways, focused on true stories from skilled story tellers that are 5-10 minutes long.
Poetry in the ParlorBeginning as a poetry series held on select porches in the west end of Hartford, Poetry on the Porch has moved inside for the cooler months and has been rebranded as Poetry in the Parlor.
